Last time I was seriously pursuing this sport, I had very little money and almost no access to quality equipment. I think they best rubber I had was some Mark V (don’t even remember the blade) which my father had purchased for me.
Now that I can afford it, I have decided to throw some money at it so that I know “it’s me” who is fucking up and not the equipment. I know this logic is flawed, and you must hear this mistake being done every other day, but I hope I can redeem the value:

  • Butterfly Dimitrij Ovtcharov Innerforce ALC blade
  • Butterfly Dignics 05 red BH
  • Butterfly Dignics 09c black FH

How can I best utilise this equipment – assuming I am willing to put in the time, and become a strong amateur player?
PS: Yes, you guys featured heavily in my research towards purchasing the rubber and the blade. Hence the Pro subscription 🙂

Hey Karan!

That’s great that you used us for research towards your equipment and as much as it’s you not the equipment playing it is still important to have decent equipment that you are comfortable with 🙂

This is a very good set up in my opinion, I think it’s just important to make sure you have the consistency and control by doing lots of regular drills with movement and really getting settled on the feeling of the bat. Both rubbers you are using have plenty of spin so definitely make use of that by trying to brush the ball well and not hitting too flat.

Of course the more you practice with it the more comfortable you will become with it, the biggest factor is just time and putting in the training. No doubt this equipment will be suitable for the long term and as you progress and improve.

Anything else on this just let us know 🙂
