reverse-serve-aim-points
Hi Dan and Tom. I really enjoyed your Reverse Pendulum video. The slow motion on Dan’s serve, especially the long view, showed his economical swing and contact point. Too often I would settle for the middle of the bat instead of the front. Would you say the main aim points are short to the forehand and long to the crossover or elbow? Of course, occasionally go to the backhand short, but someone with a quality flick could parry that fairly easily I would think. Thanks.
Hi Slicepong,
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! I would say actually variation is the key when serving to be honest rather than any specific areas, being unpredictable. So unless someone has an obvious weakness returning from a certain area, try to vary your placement and length to keep them guessing.
The other factor to this is keeping the serve low, a good reverse serve if its low will not be easy to flick, most players actually find the reverse more difficult to flick than a normal pendulum or backsspin serve.
So keep variation and practice thats vital!
