Coach CornerTechniquesrubber-not-catching-the-ball
Kevin Tang asked 8 months ago

I seem to have a problem on attacks where I mishit the ball, the ball ends up not getting caught by the rubber. Wondering if my FH rubber is to blame for this, as I use Dignics 09c. I tend to mishit under pressure. Only thing is this rubber feels great during practice, but just when I’m playing the match. Any insights or thoughts on why this might be happening would be appreciated.

Hey Kevin, it could definitely come down to being more tense and tight in match play and then not getting the right contact on the ball, especially if it’s fine in training and then only happening during matches. But if your rubber is very old and worn it could also be causing some of the shots that are mishit. So I would say just check how old it is and how long you’ve had it. But to help the match play it’s about focusing on your timing and getting a good brush in the ball as 09c can create a lot of spin when used well. Let us know how you get on!
