what-are-the-best-drills-for-complete-novice-12-14-year-olds
Coaching an after school club of 18 with 6 tables and complete novices to table tennis. creating drills that will engage with them and be fun to start.
Hey David, I think the best thing early on is just to focus on the basics so forehand and backhand drives and pushes, if you check out the beginner video section here: https://tabletennisdailyacademy.com/videos/?_skill_level=beginner
This will give you some good demos and drills that will be perfect! Of course it’s fun for kids to play some games as well, so even if it’s trying to reach a certain number in a row and little challenges to keep it interesting that helps for sure. Or having cones on the table as targets to knock off with their shots is alos a really good way to get kids into it and having fun!
